Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour
Victoria's new Marriott Inner Harbour hotel -- around the corner from the Sticky Wicket and blocks from the Royal British Columbia Museum -- is a service dream with rest-easy beds and fortune views. Its gym is well equipped and tranquil. Thank you to Kerry Morrissey of Ocean Properties, Ken Boyd Director of Marketing & Sales at Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour and Carolyn Glen National Director of Sales for Atlific Hotels for their generous hospitality. With its upmarket charm and Dublin-vibe, we love Victoria and will hurry back.

Ruth's Chris Calgary

Immedia's Heather Kirk gives the nod -- and a wink -- to the new Ruth's Chris Steak House that opened over the weekend in Calgary. The 12-piece brass band that flew up from New Orleans along with the server coaches topped off the night. Steaks with sizzle, a room with a great vantage and authentic staff. A truly memorable meal at an opening event that gave back, with proceeds from wine sold supporting local charities. Heather's off to Tokyo next week where another location has just opened. May have to check it out! You can make reservations online at www.ruthschris.com
Doing Good

Before heading to off to Paris, John Clerides of Marquis Wine Cellars stops for lunch yesterday with Immedia's Laura Serena at Italian Kitchen to discuss his French Fete charity event November 21 at the Vancouver Museum to raise money to support the work of the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre. They reviewed the current issue of the Robb Report Top 100 Winemakers and their best new releases. (Marquis carries about 40 of the wines listed here.)
Behind Every Great Woman
